About Engage School Management Systems
For over 30 years, our UK parent company, Double First Ltd, has been developing Engage, its award-winning school and financial management systems for fee-paying, independent, private and partially government funded schools, since developing its first products in 1987.
Double First has a staff of some 80 dedicated professionals which includes a large development department of analysts, developers and testers, with the balance split between the Implementation, Training and Support Centre departments.
In addition, regional offices operate in Johannesburg, Dubai and Australia, complete with their own staffing. We also have embedded team members throughout the six continents in which we work.
In 2020 Double First and Engage was acquired by Australia’s leading K-12 software company, the Education Horizons Group (EHG). We are now a fully integrated part of a group serving more than 2000 schools, 1.3m students and 190,0000 teachers worldwide.
Direct to you
As the developer and sole owner of our products, Engage systems are sold direct to schools. We do not have franchises or dealers. We only deal direct, guaranteeing quality of service and offering our schools and school groups the security of access straight to the heart of the company.
Knowing that demand can be highly seasonal, especially when a large number of individual schools or school groups wants to ‘go-live’ simultaneously, staff members are moved around the globe to ensure smooth implementations always occur.
Today, Engage draws on an unrivaled wealth of experience from working with over 600 leading international schools across six continents. Engage brings its global educational experience to each of the local regions it which it focuses, one of which is in South Africa.
Engaged Schools are in all areas of the UK, USA, South Africa, South America, Europe, Middle East, Far East and Australia.
The company’s headquarters is in the UK, Great Britain, and is responsible for development, whilst holding an overview of Implementation and Training.
The wholly owned South African regional office in Johannesburg is now one of the busiest regionally focused offices, having implemented over 30 schools with Engage in just three years.
What a school receives
Within the cost of Engage, every school is appointed with an Engage Implementation Manager to ensure a smooth transition, and who can advise on data extraction, network security analysis, data protection and best practice advice.
Importantly, all support and standard software upgrades are fully included, free of any additional charge.
In 2016, our parent company was delighted to win the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2016.
Our parent, Double First Ltd was the first educational software company ever to have won this award. It highlights the rapid adoption of Engage by many leading schools around the globe, including those in Africa.
